Attention Dentists: Federal Government Programs ends processing of duplicate claims
Delta Dental recently implemented a new claims processing policy for its Federal Government Programs division. We will no longer process duplicate claims (i.e., claims that have identical services with the same dates of service) and will not send Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements for any duplicate claims submitted. This policy is limited to claims submitted for any of the following federal dental programs administered by Delta Dental’s Federal Government Programs division: the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program, the Federal Employees Dental Program, the Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program, the Public Health Service Active Duty Dental Program, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Dental Insurance Program.
The EOB is the best way to request an adjustment to your denied claim. Please do not submit a new claim; instead, use the EOB to submit missing or mismatched information (MI or AP processing policy codes) or to provide a correction to information that was submitted incorrectly on the original claim (such as a tooth number or date of service). Simply note the correct information on the EOB and mail it to Delta Dental of California, Federal Government Programs, P.O. Box 537007, Sacramento, CA 95853-7007. This will help ensure timely and accurate processing of your adjustment request.
